so get into it!
So get into it! talks about the world of the Special Olympics winners: it is an open gate for the young who wish to discover a way to a hospitable society.
The So get into it! Guidebook is a free material offered to elementary school teachers and it promotes the qualities of each person. With this Guidebook, the students learn abut the Special Olympics experience and about the positive message transmitted.
The So get into it! Guidebook contains four lessons meant to achieve three main objectives:
- The students need to understand, accept and cherish the differences and qualities of each individual.
- The students need to learn about Special Olympics and about getting actively involved in this movement.
- The students have to get involved in civic projects.
The four lessons are structured so that assimilating new information will be based on the information received in the prior lesson:
- Being aware – accumulating knowledge about stereotypes and how they can generate an ill-favoured behaviour.
- Understanding – explaining notions of discrimination, aversion.
- Being inspired – establishing role models – the Special Olympics athletes.
- Acting – embolden the students to change attitudes through their behaviour, in their schools and in their community.
