The mountain sports area that belongs to the National Academy for Physical Education and Sports hosted the Special Olympics ski camp as it did in the previous four years. Between 8-15th of January, 15 athletes with intellectual disabilities took part in trainings and competitions at alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Between 15 -23 January, another 18 athletes were trained in this camp in order to participate in the 2009 World Winter Games. The competitions that were organized at the end of the two series were followed by the awarding ceremonies. Along with medals and diplomas, the athletes were given presents from the Parang Mountain Rescue Team. We would like to thank the National Academy for Physical Education and Sports and the Parang Mountain Rescue Team for all their support!
