Do we have the right to say that someone is different just because he is Down? Haven't you ever been Down?
Sometimes it means more To be Down.
And yeah, that makes you different.
What does it mean To be Down?
It means getting used to having people stare at you.
It means hoping that people look past the obvious.
It means fighting every day.
For respect
For normality.
It means dreaming that one day, for one second, you will forget how Down you are.
This is what we, the Special Olympics, do.
For a moment, we help a child with Down Syndrome forget about being down.
We help him believe.
We help him become a hero.
For a moment, he gets a chance to see what it means to live a normal life.
He needs you, too.
At this very moment, he's hoping that you will help him.
Don't let him Down!
Together with the "Marius Ivan" Foundation, we offer those with intellectual disabilities the chance to participate in the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai. It's their fight. The fight within themselves. They can be heroes too.
We are proud to say that we support their dream: "Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt."
Dar daca nu voi castiga, vreau sa fiu brav in incercarea mea!
